Q & A
How long have you been writing/ playing / performing for?
I started writing and singing in 2015. In 2019 I decided to self teach myself piano to be able to accompany myself and to make the songwriting flow more- i had done a small amount as a child so i was confident it was something i could achieve. Together my husband and I now have 60 plus original songs written! I officially started performing in 2021 so this is a very new adventure for me, and I am loving the ride !
How would you describe your music to someone who hasn’t heard it before?
The music is very emotional. Every song is written about elements of the human condition; existence, aspiration, emotions, mortality, growth and conflict. The lyrics take the listener on a heartfelt journey. The music is composed with ethereal vocal melodies and harmonies, soaring impactful choruses and modern sounds to bring you a mix of adult contemporary ballads and alternative pop.
What else inspires you?
Everyday life. I am an empath at heart and have always found myself being able to feel others emotions deeply whether it be family. friends or even strangers whose stories I have read. I have 2 children (10 and 12) whom I was a single mother for the first few years of their lives before I met my now husband Tony. Both children are autistic so that has brought a lot of emotional challenges for me over the years of motherhood. I am also a midwife, everyday in my job i experience joy, fear, anxiety, love and every other emotion in between. I find helping families to navigate their way through such a vulnerable time in their lives always brings me inspiration.
Who are your favourite music artists or musical influences?
I grew up listening to so many different music genres but always found myself favoring the ballads and emotional sounding tracks- My inspirations stem from a mix of artists, Missy Higgins, Evanescence, Florence and the machine, and Sia just to name a few.

A mix between florence and the machine, Evanescence, dido and even norah jones
Do you like performing live?

Do you like recording?
I used to hate the recording process ! But after working on my voice over the past 18months i now really enjoy it. It’s not a source of anxiety it once was
What do you hope to achieve with your music?
I have always turned to music in my life when I have been struggling and feeling down, whether it be breakups, sad times, grief. I found that listening to songs and feeling the emotions the artist has gone through helped me through my own feelings. I have always said that if even a handful of people listen to my songs and are able to feel some type of emotional connection then I have achieved what I set out to do.
Have any elements of your personal background influenced your music?
Everyday life. I am an empath at heart and have always found myself being able to feel others emotions deeply whether it be family. friends or even strangers whose stories I have read. I have 2 children (10 and 12) whom I was a single mother for the first few years of their lives before I met my now husband Tony. Both children are autistic so that has brought a lot of emotional challenges for me over the years of motherhood. I am also a midwife, everyday in my job i experience joy, fear, anxiety, love and a whole heap of other emotions. I find helping families to navigate their way through such a vulnerable time in their lives always brings me inspiration. There are stories everywhere, you’ve just got to care enough to share them
Is there anything about your musical or personal history that you feel is important for your audiences to know?
Growing up I didn't really have any musical hobbies in my life, apart from a few piano lessons in primary school I never studied music, sang in front of anyone or did any type of performing. After leaving school I became more interested in singing. Eventually taking up lessons. From there my interest broadened and the songwriting began. I had many challenges in my early adulthood, having children at a relatively young age, becoming a single parent not long after, losing close friends, moving away from my family to be a midwife and eventually having both children diagnosed with autism and myself being diagnosed with ADHD and chronic fatigue. All of these experiences I believe contributed to me being able to express my emotion through music and singing and stay strong in my everyday life for my children, work family and friends.
